A new and striking lobby experience awaits the companies of 4300 Wilson Blvd, a mixed-use retail and office space in Arlington. The project design takes cues from hospitality to create a warm and inviting common areas for employees, while providing amenities that will meet the demand of a modern workforce. By upgrading the exterior entrances, the design team aimed to make the building more inviting and interesting – starting with a custom fabricated exterior canopy detail. The triangular shapes, custom fabricated in Italy by Wood Skin, are custom installed to give the material a fluid appearance. Because their veneers are not exterior grade, a custom match was required in 1.0mm aluminum. This allowed for continuity in the lobby’s focal piece through the vestibule and exterior canopy without concerns for durability in the future.
