SUSTAINABILITY

DESIGNING BETTER BUILDINGS

Whether interior or exterior, materials should be sustainable from initial design to construction to the end of their life cycle. We believe materials should support human health, climate health, and ecosystem health – as well as a circular economy. Our core product line is aluminum, a natural, durable, and 100% recyclable material. In fact, 75% of the Earth’s original aluminum is still in use today – making it one of the most recyclable and recycled materials. We are committed to avoiding harmful ingredients in our finishes and panel systems, while being transparent about our offerings. See our commitment to sustainability, below.

Our commitment to sustainability is not only to reduce cost and enhance building marketability, but to reduce negative impacts on our environment and those who inhabit it. We are committed to manufacturing eco-friendly materials that will last for years to come. By working directly with building owners, design teams, and subcontractors, we are ensuring our materials meet the most recent standards of the market, such as LEED v4, HPD, Declare, and our products participate in the mindfulMATERIALS library.

Sustainable Metal

All of our finishes are printed onto 100% aluminum substrate, containing a minimum of 20% post-consumer recycled content in all of our metal wall and ceiling panels. Because we use single-skin aluminum, our products are all 100% recyclable. Using products which are produced wholly or partially from recycled content reduces the environmental impact of harvesting and processing virgin materials. It also lessens the impact on landfills and other waste-containment systems.

VOC and Red List Free

Materials should make buildings better. Our products are free from VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), ensuring indoor and outdoor air quality. We’re also committed to being LBC 3.1 Red List Free, a standard set to remove the worst in class materials that directly impact pollution levels, the food chain, and construction and factory workers.

HPD Compliance

With material health becoming increasingly essential in our industry, it is important for us as a product supplier to do our part in this mission. HPD’s(Health Product Declarations) are used to share the potential health impacts of building product materials. This tool creates a sense of transparency between us and architects and designers.

One key takeaway is that nearly all health concerns listed on the report occur only if manufacturers are using raw or powder aluminum. Pure + FreeFrom uses neither of those products.

LEED Certifications

We fully recognize that making buildings more efficient and habitable is critical to our contribution to the built environment and ultimately, our legacy as a material designer. Our commitment to ecological awareness means we use only the highest-grade alloys and time-tested industry leading resins. Our aluminum, pigments, inks, and resins have all been tested and certified to help projects qualify for GREEN building status.

Our commitment to sustainability is not only to reduce cost and enhance building marketability, but to reduce negative impacts on our environment and those who inhabit it. We are committed to manufacturing eco-friendly materials that will last for years to come.
