Built in 1958, Capitol Center is a 12-story commercial office space in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood. To modernize the building and attract new tenants, new ownership called for fully renovated interiors as well as the addition of a 5,000-sf amenities floor on the penthouse level. The rooftop deck includes stunning views of downtown Denver, the Capitol building, and the surrounding mountains. The renovation speaks to Denver’s unique locality with a focus on blending metropolitan finishes with natural elements. Our Riverside woodgrain finish gave the interior baffles the appearance of real wood, but with a Class A Fire rating and no legacy of maintenance. The same material continues to the exterior canopy and soffit, marrying the interior and exterior spaces. Wet Seal Plate panels in Brooklyn Steel were used to clad the fascia and planter boxes, providing dynamic texture and color that changes with light. The building achieved LEED Gold status in 2020.
