Parcel U

Boston, MA | Ennead Architects

The Parcel U building embodies the interplay of natural materials and their neo-industrial counterparts, blending authenticity with innovation. The façade showcases a hybrid masonry-corten pilaster with a bespoke Pure + FreeForm metal, in which two earth tones reference metal patina while complimenting the natural terracotta baguettes on the entrance of the façade in form and tone.
The custom finish designed with Ennead captures the authenticity of raw materiality while leveraging modern technology to ensure durability and aesthetic control. The result is a façade that bridges industrial materiality with contemporary sophistication, integrating timeless material qualities into a bold urban narrative. This juxtaposition challenges perceptions of material authenticity, redefining how faux and real can coexist to elevate architectural expression and rationality.
