Given the massive dimensions of the US Bank Stadium, the design required a subtle contrast on the soffits and wing walls of the new Minnesota Vikings’ Stadium to create visual texture from a distance. Although weathered steel was initially considered to provide a contrast to the black zinc, maintenance concerns, in addition to the inability to control color made this option unfit. Since our exterior matte is able to get more matte than other panel manufacturers, our design studio was asked to create a rust-copper hybrid in dry, lusterless metal which will keep its color for decades.
