Wheaton Town Center is a new 14-story office building that will be the new home for several Montgomery County municipal offices as part of the Wheaton Revitalization Project to bring new life to Downtown Wheaton. The site additionally provides a new plaza for a 25,000 sqft town square, designed to hold future community events. We designed, in collaboration with Gensler, a custom caramel-toned wood finish with an ovangkol inspired grain. The material clads the exterior soffit, transitioning to the interior ceiling of the lobby. The site is the first government-owned office building in Maryland to receive LEED Platinum status, receiving the certification in August 2020.
