The main goal for the Expensify Office was to balance the space needs of the clients and the historical importance of the building by referencing the historic details and proportions. The brass was the bridging detail for this connection between contemporary and historical and made a significant impact via two brass-clad, glass-enclosed work spaces which dominate the central void. There is additional scope in the “Gatsby” style break rooms where the same metal is used for backsplashes, unifying the public and private spaces.
