San Francisco, CA | Woods Bagot

The SkyTerrace Observation Deck at the San Francisco Airport is a brand new offering for travelers and aviation enthusiasts alike, allowing people to watch plane landing and takeoff in real time, outside. Located in the newly renovated Terminal 2 at SFO, the observation deck offers one-of-a-kind views and a unique space to pass time. The design team opted to create a custom woodgrain in 1.0mm aluminum to ensure the exact right tone was employed. The material spans the glazing, transitioning easily from interior walls and ceilings to the exterior walls and soffit. Durability is no concern, for the material meets AAMA 2605 exterior durability standards for a high-traffic airport space.
