Built in 1958, Capitol Center is a 12-story commercial office space in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood. To modernize the building and attract new tenants, new ownership called for fully renovated interiors as well as the addition of a 5,000-sf amenities floor on the penthouse level. The rooftop deck includes stunning views of downtown Denver, the Capitol building, and the surrounding mountains. The renovation speaks to Denver’s unique locality with a focus on blending metropolitan finishes with natural elements. Our Riverside woodgrain finish gave the interior baffles the appearance of real wood, but with a Class A Fire rating and no legacy of maintenance. The same material continues to the exterior canopy and soffit, marrying the interior and exterior spaces. Bond™ panels in Brooklyn Steel were used to clad the fascia and planter boxes, providing dynamic texture and color that changes with light. The building achieved LEED Gold status in 2020.
