Harsh climates call for tough materials. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel’s iconic guitar-shaped hotel isn’t the only part of the project that was larger than life. The pool area includes a 2-story food service area in the shape of a boat, complete with a floating walkway. Using plate panels, the grain is offset – moving in the opposite direction around the fascia – giving it the woodlike appearance one might see on a real ship, but with a material that is more friendly to the humidity of the pool and Florida itself.
